The only strange thing is that the girdle on the replacement block is ground down in a few places (ie with an angle grinder). Not sure why the hell someone would do this, but it is like 1/8" deep on the inner edge of two of the "bridges" (?) between cylinders. I am not sure that it compromises structural integrity but it is strange nonetheless.
